A
gel is a polymer material containing a liquid, such as water
or oil. It has superior flexibility, elasticity, electrical
conductivity and adhesiveness. For this reason, it is used
in bedsore prevention mats, coolant, electrodes, and the like.
Having long recognized these properties, Nitto Denko has developed
various gel products in both sheet and molded forms. We are
continuing to develop products with this unique material.
Bedsore prevention mat
This mat prevents bedsores by dispersing body weight over
the mat area.
Coolant
 This
product is produced with a gel that is designed to remain
soft even when frozen. Because it conforms well to the body
and has long-lasting cooling properties, it is used for cooling
pillows and other cooling treatments.
Gel electrode
 Gels
are both highly adhesive and electrically conductive, yet
are quite safe to the skin. They are therefore used as electrodes
for electrocardiograph and low-frequency therapeutic devices. |
