TEMISH is the generic name for the PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene)
porous membranes manufactured by Nitto Denko. This porous
membrane has several hundred million micropores per square
centimeter, and features waterproofness, dustproofness and
air permeability. In addition, it also has other excellent
features such as water repellency, heat resistance, chemical
resistance, weatherability and electrical properties, and
it can be laminated or compounded with various other materials.
Thus, with its excellent features, TEMISH can be used over
a broad spectrum of applications including air filters and
filterbags as well as providing waterproofness, dustproofness,
air permeability and sound permeability for automobiles, communications
equipment, outdoor equipment and home electric appliances.

Selective permeability allows air to pass but repels water
It features several hundred million micropores per square
centimeter and allows the passage of gases such as air and
moisture vapor, and it repels liquids with a large contact
angle such as water, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, etc. Thanks
to this selective permeability, it affords excellent waterproofness
and dustproofness as well as moisture permeability and air
permeability simultaneously.
A broad spectrum of properties including chemical resistance,
heat resistance, etc.
PTFE, raw material for Temish, is unaffected by most chemicals
and provides excellent chemical resistance. It also offers
excellent water repellency, heat resistance, weatherability
and electrical properties.

TEMISH can be laminated and composited with nonwoven fabric,
woven fabric, glass cloth, paper, rubber and molded products
to produced materials with outstanding functions used in various
